Beck Poster
On January 30, 2009, President Obama signed the Notification of Employee Rights Under Federal Labor Laws Executive Order. Effective immediately, this order revokes the requirement that federal contractors with a contract of $100,000 + and more than 15 employees and employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement post what is commonly referred to as the "Beck Notice."
As of February 5, 2010, a new posting requirement has not been released. It will be posted on HRCalifornia as soon as it's available.
Pre-January 30, 2009 Information: If you entered into a contract with the federal government on or after April 18, 2001, you must display the "Beck" poster. Contracts entered into before that date are exempt from the requirement, as are contracts for less than $100,000. Even if you have no union employees, you must post the notice. Federal contractors and subcontractors also must include a clause regarding display of the Beck poster in all federally connected subcontracts and purchase orders.
When you combine California and federal requirements, it's easy to lose track of the different employee notices you need. CalBizCentral posters, pamphlets and kits keep you in compliance. |
