HR102: Intro to HR Admin. Seminar

  • HR 102: Labor Law Administration is for HR professionals that need to better understand and improve their labor law administration processes and programs. 
  • This class expands on topics covered in the popular HR 102: Labor Law Administation by taking an interactive approach to important administration topics including: Compensation, Exempt/Nonexempt (proper payment and deductions), Discrimination and Harassment, Disability and Reasonable Accommodation, LOA, Investigation procedures, Performance Evaluations and Recordkeeping, and Terminations and Layoffs.
  • Expert guidance and training from CalChamber’s legal team and collaboration with your peers, will enable you to confidently develop, improve, and manage your company’s compliant labor law administration processes and programs.
  • Attendees will receive a copy of the 2009 Labor Law Administration to use as a resource during the course and when you get back to your office.

CalChamber Presenters:

Jessica Hawthorne, Employment Law Counsel and Helpline Consultant for CalChamber, editor of HR Handbook for California Employers, and writes employment law articles for HRCalifornia.com, and HRCaliforniaExtra. As lead subject matter expert, she serves an integral role in the product development of labor and employment law books and training.

Susan Kemp, Senior Employment Law Counsel and Helpline Manager for CalChamber, has written and edited several CalChamber publications on topics such as employee handbooks, sexual harassment investigations, family and medical leave and exempt/nonexempt employees.

Erika Frank, General Counsel and head of the Legal Affairs Department for CalChamber, has lobbied the legislative and executive branches on taxation, civil litigation and lawsuit abuse issues and submitted briefs on cases affecting workers' compensation reform, the general conduct of business, employee relations, taxation, litigation reform and commercial free speech.
